The Cedar Room offers an elevated catering menu from Mercantile and Mash, the exclusive caterer. With an in-house executive chef and pastry team, the staff is committed to supporting local, organic and sustainable food vendors which is reflected in the fresh, seasonal, high-quality dishes.
Where History Lives On
Built in 1881, the historic Cigar Factory has seen Charleston through centuries of change. Originally constructed as a textile mill, the building took on new life in 1903 when it was purchased by the American Tobacco Company. At its peak, the factory produced over 400,000 cigars a day, becoming a hub of industry and craftsmanship along the Cooper River. Today, The Cedar Room carries that spirit forward as one of Charleston’s most sought-after event venues. Many of the building’s original architectural details, including exposed wood columns, reclaimed hardwood floors, and rustic brick walls, have been thoughtfully preserved, offering a warm, textured backdrop for life’s biggest moments.
