The Cedar Room at Mercantile and Mash, located in the celebrated Cigar Factory, is an open and airy space- featuring historic wood columns, hardwood floors and original elements of the circa 1881 building. The walls consist of rustic brick and floor-to-ceiling windows that reveal a view of the architecturally acclaimed Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge.

The 8,000 square foot private event venue can accommodate parties and celebrations of up to 500 guests, from intimate cocktail receptions to seated dinners for 300 guests. The space features a bridal suite, built-in bar, and a courtyard with 1,500 square feet of additional event space. Onsite parking for guests is available after 5:00 pm.

The Cedar Room Inclusions

Our goal is to ensure your engagement is an exciting and easy adventure for you to enjoy with your fiancé! As part of our commitment to streamlining the planning season for you, we have included many of the items you will need for your wedding day in the site rental fee.

  

Use of the courtyard and The Cedar Room for 5 hours with 6 hours pre-event set-up and 2 hours post-event breakdown.

Schedule Your Tour

Scouting locations for your wedding is a fun experience, and our team would be thrilled to tour you around The Cedar Room!  We typically schedule wedding site visits two weeks in advance.  Our tour schedule is Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm, but we are happy to accommodate a weekend request as long as the tour time is available and it does not affect any scheduled events.

Room rental fees include use of The Cedar Room and its Courtyard for five hours of event time with six hours pre-event set-up and two hours post-event breakdown.

  • Capacity : Courtyard 200 seated; The Cedar Room up to 550 guests
  • Features : The space features a bridal suite, built-in bar, and a courtyard with 1,500 square feet of additional event space. Onsite parking for guests is available after 5:00 pm.

With 8,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, The Cedar Room offers a unique and creative venue for all of your event needs. The Cedar Room comfortably accommodates networking events, lavish galas, luncheons and trainings, holiday parties and more. Located in downtown Charleston and minutes from hotels, shopping and dining/nightlife options.
